Peab, Norrköping Rescue Station Project
Peab is responsible for building a new, modern facility for the Norrköping Fire Department—a large-scale project of vital importance to the community that will replace the current fire station on Södra Promenaden. The old station was built as far back as 1940 and has long been too small and inadequate for the operations the emergency services carry out today. The new station will therefore be a long-awaited investment that will improve both the work environment for staff and the municipality’s emergency preparedness.
The new facility includes office space, staff areas, a garage for emergency vehicles, and areas for drills and training. The building was designed to meet high standards of sustainability, functionality, and technical performance—all to address the future needs of emergency services.
Bygg Love Bemanning was entrusted with assisting Peab on this important community project. Our work began in February 2024, when we provided personnel to carry out foundation insulation work, including the installation of Styrofoam.
In June, the project was bolstered by a team of experienced carpenters who remained on site through March 2025. They worked continuously on both interior and exterior carpentry. This included, among other things, structural framing, wall and ceiling installation, interior carpentry, and details that required a high degree of precision.
A particular strength of the project was the flexibility of the workforce. During the construction phase, we were also able to provide carpenters to one of Peab’s on-site subcontractors. This allowed for a smooth internal reallocation of resources—a great example of how a project can benefit from cross-functional collaboration to ensure the right expertise is available where it’s needed most.
